Mr. James H. Pritchett, MAI, founded our predecessor company “Pritchett & Company” in 1954. Since its inception, the Company name has changed to reflect Partners leading the firm, with the most recent iteration being Pritchett, Ball & Wise, Inc. In 2002, Mr. Pritchett passed. In 2007 and 2014, Mr. Wise and Mr. Ball retired. Paying homage to the Founder, the Company is presently doing business as Pritchett Appraisal.
Current Principals of the firm include Andy Sheppard, MAI, AI-GRS, R/W-AC, and George S. Petkovich, MAI, CCIM, both of whom were trained by and worked alongside Mr. Pritchett, Mr. Ball, and Mr. Wise since 1998 and 1996, respectively. Both Principals graduated with degrees in Real Estate from Georgia State University, both hold the highly esteemed MAI designation, both are highly active in leadership and teaching roles within the Appraisal Institute, and both are affiliated with other educational providers such as the CCIM Institute and the International Right of Way Association.
We provide appraisals, verbally or in a written Appraisal Report form, conforming to all applicable valuation standards. We appraise a wide variety of property types and ownership interests, including land and improved properties throughout the southeast.
We specialize in atypical property types and ownership interests, but we limit our involvement to assignments where we have ample knowledge of the submarket, the property type, the appraisal issues, and the information needed to solve the appraisal problem.
We take pride in providing honest answers for Clients in their time of need, which may or may not include an Appraisal Report.
We regularly offer reviews of Appraisal Reports completed by others, verbally or in a Review Report format which comport to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice ("USPAP") and/or the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions ("UASFLA").
Additionally, we enjoy educating our Clients on appraisal terminology and methodology needed to solve what are often complex appraisal problems.
Many of our assignments begin with a legal dispute or an appraisal problem which needs to be adjudicated. To this end, we regularly offer deposition, direct testimony, and review services for Clients who need a real property appraisal expert witness.
We are skilled at navigating the process of appraising real property to the highest standard(s) required for the appraisal problem, including appraisal development and appraisal reporting standards set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice ("USPAP") and the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Aquisition ("UASFLA"), among others.
